Eric Wallace began playing guitar in the 1970's inspired by the virtuosity of guitarists such as Jimmy Page and Paco De Lucia. His quest to master the guitar started at a young age with classical guitar lessons from William Krause. Eric enjoyed playing all the stringed instruments at World Of Strings in Long Beach, California. There, he became acquainted with all types of guitars, cellos, violins, violas, double bass, electric guitars, dulcimers, hammered dulcimers and harps.
Eric Wallace performed at the young age of seven at state level guitar recitals and placed as high as 2nd place in his age category. Eric's passion for all types of music continued to grow as he expanded his skills on the electric guitar, bass guitar, and drums through adolescence into adulthood. Eric also became proficient on double bass, cello, viola and violin under the direction of Naomi Norwick at Hughes Jr. High School.
Eric Wallace began giving classical guitar instruction in 1992 with the same regimented style that helped him develop his amazing virtuosity. In the 1990's, Eric played with bands that performed at major venues in the Los Angeles area and seized the opportunity to perform with Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction and Lonnie Jordan of War. Eric also performed solo classical guitar at numerous weddings, galas, fundraisers, engagement and birthday parties, and funerals. Eric was a weekly fixture in the late 1990's at the Lumpy Gravy, owned previously by Frank Zappa, and at the Terrace Restaurant on the beach between Marina Del Rey and Venice Beach.
While Eric has an extensive repertoire of both classical music and rock classics, his personal compositions shine a huge light on his talent and performance capabilities.
Eric Wallace has developed a recording style that produces great sounding tracks for bands and instrumentalists. He can work with your artistic vision to help create the sound you have been striving to obtain.
